(You Are Slaves Of The One Whom You Obey) Compiled by Brother L. Harrell
The Lord has told His people numerous times that we are to trust Him, and Him alone (See 2 Kings 17:38, Exodus 20:3, Philippians 4:6 & Philippians 4:19). It is He that heals our diseases (See James 5:15 & Psalms 103:2-3). Jesus is above the god of this world, the enemy. He created the enemy, and it is Jesus who destroys the works of the enemy. "But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?" (Galatians 4:8-9 NKJV)The Lord tells us He will not forsake us. He also tells us that He does not and cannot lie. If we question these facts, we call Him a liar. The devil is the father of lies. (See 1 John 5:10 & John 8:44) When we are doubting God, we are doing the bidding of the enemy, yielding ourselves to the will of the enemy. Reflect on Numbers 14:37: Most of the men that searched the land, returned with an evil report. Those with an evil report died by the plague, while those with a good report lived. Despite having seen all the signs that the Lord had worked for them, the people would not trust and believe the Lord, so the Lord let them see His alienation, and they died in the wilderness. (Read Numbers 14:11, Numbers 14:34, Hebrews 3:12 & Hebrews 3:18-19) Concerning our health: Are we in obedient faith that leads to righteousness or are we in faithless sin that leads to death? Do we see ourselves as as grasshoppers, and the sickness as a giant? Have we decided to drink the waters of the Euphrates and Nile instead of the Jordan River? "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." (Romans 8:6-8)In 2 Chronicles 16:7, Hanani the seer, speaking on behalf of God, told King Asa that he had "done foolishly." King Asa had asked the army of another country to defend him, instead of relying on God. The seer said "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him". King Asa later was diseased greatly in his feet. He did not seek help from the Lord, but relied on the physicians. (2 Chronicles 16:12) The next verse tells of his death. We can't expect God to make us whole and give us complete deliverance while we are trusting man's latest innovations for relief from our suffering and/or to save our lives. Many have rationalized and say that God has given us the doctors to relieve our suffering. God has not purposed His people's deliverance to come by faithless doctors, researchers and scientists. (Additionally, many of these physicians work for medical institutions owned and operated by apostate / false churches) Many saints try to place faith in doctors and God at the
same time (if that is even possible). If God desires, He may
grant "some deliverance". In 2 Chronicles 12:7, King Rehoboam who
served idols, then later humbled himself before God and was given "some
measure of deliverance". If the Lord desires, He may grant some
mercy, in spite of this inconsistency, and show himself faithful
and almighty. (I do not say this to endorse trusting man, but
rather to bring understanding of why some do get their limited help or
no deliverance at all). If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13 [(NKJV])
When saints rely on man, there are physical and mental scars, sometimes even death. Not only do saints frequently receive scars, which are another form of enslavement, but also financial bondage, drug reliance (bondage: often with unpleasant side effects), and therapy (bondage) that takes time and money that should be used to spread the gospel (if not rendering the saint useless for the work of the kingdom). This is not God's will. It is the enemy's will to leave us bound so he can spoil our goods. Jesus took and pardoned us of these sufferings. (See Isaiah 53:5 & Galatians 3:13) "And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house." (Mark 3:26-27)Treatment by many medical facilities strengthens the hand of the enemy financially (many facilities are run by false churches as their form of "charity"), reaffirms their false beliefs of salvation by good works, creates stumbling blocks for the weak, and places the saints (and the weak) in a position to receive council from the ungodly. (A person can’t be treated by a doctor unless they are obedient, submissive and bound to their instruction and treatments, which likely will be godless council) Also, many of these medical facilities embrace numerous types of demonic interaction: acupuncture, hypnotism, yoga, various forms of "chi", meditation, marian & angelic worship, etc. "But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils." (1 Corinthians 10:20-21) Be Sure To:
May the Lord bless you as you in faith, reject the world's council, physicians and their treatments, and place your trust in the Savior and creator of all things, the Lord Jesus Christ, in Jesus' name. "Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:13-16) |
