The Last Day
(Wishful Rationalization Of A "Pre-Tribulation" Rapture Disproved)

Compiled by Brother L. Harrell

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

The dead in Christ rise on the last day:

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

With the trump/trumpet of God, the dead in Christ are caught up in the clouds and meet the Lord. If the dead in Christ rise the last day, this must be the last day. (This makes known, the living will not leave seven years earlier than the dead):

1 Thessalonians For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1 Thessalonians
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1 Thessalonians
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet , and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

* Matthew 24:21 & 29 Convey that the "gathering of the elect" is after the great tribulation. Therefore, the gathering of the elect will not and can't be "pre-tribulation" (The gathering of the elect, a.k.a. the rapture, can not be before the great tribulation). See also Mark 13:24-27 & Daniel 12:1-2.

The day of the Lord will be as the days of Noah, not as the days of Enoch:

Enoch pleased God, and was translated. Nowhere does the bible suggest that this testimony is symbolic that those who please God will not go through the great tribulation, and will be "gathered" / " raptured " to escape it prior to the last day.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Enoch would have had to live more that 1,000 years to perish in the flood. No man is recorded living that long, and Genesis 2:17 and 2 Peter 3:8 indicate Enoch could not live to be older than 1,000 years old.

Genesis , But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

2 Peter 3:8, But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The day Noah entered the ark, the flood came. The day Lot went out of Sodom , destruction came.

Luke And as it was in the days of Noe , so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Luke 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Luke Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Luke But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Luke Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Jesus will bring the dead in Christ with him as angels:

Mark For when they shall rise from the dead , they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him .

Jude 1:14-15 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints , to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

The day the Lord comes as a thief in the night, the earth burns up:

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night ; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up .

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night . For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Zephaniah 1:15-18 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy : for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
